Ed Bacon - Minister
I’ve been the preaching minister at Mt. Zion Christian Church since August 2009, and my family has been tremendously blessed by the love and support we have received here. I have been married to Susan since December 1991 and have two children, Hannah and Jackson. I am a graduate of Lincoln Christian University (M.A. in Ministry, B.A in Church and Family Life) and Illinois State University (M.S. in Counseling). After serving as a chaplain assistant in the U.S. Army for five years, I served as youth minister in Joliet, IL and Gridley, IL and had preaching ministries in Wapella and Oakland, IL as well as Gary, IN. I was also a counselor at Chestnut Family Counseling and the Children’s Foundation, both in Bloomington, IL. I enjoy running, golf and fishing, but my greatest passions are to see the lost come to Christ and to see the saved grow in their love for Him.

Cody Monkman - Youth Minister
As the youth minister at MZCC you never know what crazy things will happen here. I work with junior high and high school students that bounce off the walls, and they keep me on my toes. It’s just one big “Jesus party” at MZCC as we continue to learn about Christ, challenge one another, and live life together.
I’m a native of Clinton, Illinois, and my home church is First Christian Church in Clinton. I’ve been blessed with loving family, supportive home church, wonderful friends, and many opportunities to work with youth of all ages. Before coming to Mount Zion Christian I worked for almost 3 years at the Clinton YMCA under different youth programs that strived to assist students with their growth in mind, body, and spirit. However, my favorite program was camp! It’s always been camp, and much of my background is with camp oriented experiences whether it was through the YMCA or Little Galilee Christian Camp. In my last year at the YMCA, I was the junior coordinator of Camp Osage in which we learned about Jesus every day and did service projects weekly throughout the community to make a difference.
I came to MZCC in September 2010, and have loved it since day one. I am currently a student at Illinois State University in the Middle Level Education program. Mount Zion Christian keeps me busy as we go on conference trips, have lock-ins, go to concerts, have weekly “Jesus parties” on Sunday night for youth group, and many other things. There’s too many to count!
I enjoy swimming, playing tennis, and throwing the ball around a bit. I’m a VERY passionate Cardinals fan. Baseball is just about the only sport I follow, and so my complete devotion is to my Cards! You may catch me eating at Taco Bell, Ihop, or Steak N’ Shake, having quality discussion over scripture, doing service projects anywhere and everywhere, at the church, the YMCA, or Little Galilee Christian Camp. Whenever you see me, stop and say hi!

Jesse Orme - Children's Minister
I graduated from Lincoln Christian University, Illinois State University, and Mt. Zion High School. My education has focused on 2 things - understanding the Bible and teaching children. I am blessed to have the opportunity to use my talents and education to teach the children at Mt. Zion Christian Church.
I am married to my amazing wife Dawn Orme for over 12 years. We have three children. Tyler, Gabrielle and Alexander. They are wonderful kids who are intelligent, active, loving and keep me plenty busy.
For those who may not know, I have written a book. It is for 3rd - 4th grade kids, and it teaches them to put God first. It is call "The Town of Different," and you can find it on Amazon.
When I teach kids at Mt. Zion Christian Church, my goal it have them love God. I want them to know what it means to love God and how that affects their everyday life. Since I am working with kids, we do try to have some fun and try to get up and move every Sunday.

Ronni Bayes - Church Secretary
I have been the secretary at MZCC since November 2009. I live in Sullivan with my family. I attended Grace College in Winona Lake, IN & LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. I love working at MZCC because this job allows me to display my creative talents. The people here at MZCC are very caring.
